Speaking in tongues is so vital to the body of Christ that God has to give us the means to express ourselves to him. Speaking in tongues has caused so much controversy that many believe it is not something we need or of any importance to us. Some have even gone so far to say tongues are of the devil. Many believers know about it but they don't see any reason why they should seek this gift that God has promised His children. Any Christian that believes and accepts Christ into their life is born of God, that is to say, they are born of the spirit. Some denominations say that Paul condemned speaking in tongues but 1 Corinthians 14:18 makes it clear that Paul himself spoke in tongues and did so more than the Corinthian believers.
