1 Thessalonians 4:11 "... and to aspire to live quietly , and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you.." (ESV) This verse in Paul's letter to the Thessalonians has so much to say about how we believers are expected to live. These instructions aren't for the purpose of spiritual growth, in the same manner other letters were, the purpose of this was to give instruction regarding our contribution in our community. Be that church, our neighbourhood, family, school or work. Aspire to Live Quietly... Or as some translations put it, make it your goal, study to be quiet, make it your ambition. We are instructed to strive to live a quiet life. This doesn't mean we go around acting as if we're a monk who's taken a vow of silence or being passive or indifferent towards the things happening around us.
